One person sustained critical injuries and three others moderate injuries in a collision between two vehicles on Hendrik Potgieter Road close to Peter Road in Roodepoort this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics, CoJ EMS and other services were on scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that a Toyota Fortuner and Honda had collided.
Some of the patients were trapped in the vehicles. Fire and Rescue and ER24 paramedics extricated the occupants with the Jaws of Life.
The patients, that included a woman who was in a critical condition, were treated and transported to local hospitals for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
