Two wanted for Muldersdrift murder

MULDERSDRIFT - Police are urging the community to contact them with any information that could lead to the apprehension of the two suspects.

Muldersdrift police are on the lookout for two armed men in connection with the murder of a Lammermoor resident on 16 June.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Hitler Ngwenya said the two wanted men attacked a man and a woman in their home in the early morning hours of Youth Day, demanding money.

“The male victim indicated that they didn’t have money, upon which the intruders shot him. The intruders shot the [26-year-old] man multiple times and then shot [the woman] in the lower body,” Ngwenya said.

According to Ngwenya she managed to escape and warn the neighbours.

“The intruders made off with electrical appliances and other household items. It is believed that they fled the scene on foot. A case docket of house robbery and murder was opened for further investigation,” he said.

The 26-year-old was declared dead on the scene by paramedics and the woman was transported to hospital for further medical treatment.

“Muldersdrift [police] are on the lookout for the two unknown suspects and we urge members of the public not to confront them as they are deemed to be extremely dangerous.
