BREAKING NEWS: Pelser signs divorce papers, does not apply for bail (Video)

JOBURG – Marthinus Pelser appeared in court for the second time.

Marthinus Pelser’s life continues to unravel as he parts ways with his wife and the mother of his baby.

According to an anonymous source at Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court, a sheriff of the court served Pelser with divorce papers. The source confirmed that Pelser did sign the papers.

Pelser was arrested in connection with the death of his six-month-old baby after he fled his home in Allen’s Nek.

Today was the second court appearance for Pelser where he was expected to apply for bail. When Pelser was taken to Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court, a twist in the tale took place.

Marthinus Pelser  appeared briefly at Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 22 June.

Pelser walked up the stairs of the court wearing a sky blue collared shirt, jeans and shoes. He was also carrying a black jacket. Pelser yet again appeared calm and collected, and was tight-lipped during proceedings.

Magistrate Delize Smith asked Pelser what his preferred language was, to which he replied Afrikaans. Smith asked Pelser, “Is it correct that at this stage you are not applying for bail?” He responded that it’s correct.

The case has been adjourned to 28 July with Pelser remaining in custody.
