Special votes can apply here

You can apply for a Special Vote at any IEC office

The window period to apply for a Special Vote for the Municipal Elections opened on 10 June and stays open until 8 July.

You can apply for a Special Vote at https://www?.?elections?.?org?.?za/content/pages/forvoters/specialvote-application?.?aspx

Special Votes will be cast on Monday 1 August and Tuesday 2 August. Your special vote must be made in the voting district where you are registered.

The IEC will do home visits where necessary, but only if your home is within the voting district where you are registered.

The following persons can apply for a Special Vote:

1. People who will be working on Election Day, for instance police officers, nurses etc.

2. Elderly people who find it difficult to stand for long periods.

3. People with a disability who will find logistics on voting day difficult.

4. Couples who are pregnant.

5. People who are immobile due to illness.

6. People who will be away on business on voting day – 3 August.
