Update: Father allegedly attempted suicide

All rumours and info are being followed up by police

According to a reliable source 22-year-old Marthinus Pelser, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the death of his baby boy, attempted suicide on the day of the baby’s death.

Honeydew Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs acknowledged the rumour, saying it is one of many. She said police could not confirm whether it is true.

New rumours of father’s whereabouts 

The Record also obtained an email in which Pelser asked the police what the procedure is for applying for a position in the Service. In their reply they referred him to their website. The email was sent on 9 May, a month before the death of his son.

Man wanted for questioning in connection with baby’s death

The six-month-old baby boy was found dead by his mother on Saturday when she returned from work. Before she could ask Pelser what happened he disappeared with her copper-colour Kia Picanto (TRX 167 GP).
