Bike catches fire after collision

Details still sketchy.

A motorcycle rider was lucky to escape unscathed when his motorcycle caught fire after colliding with a motor vehicle.

The accident took place at the corner of Honeyball and Gildea Avenues at about 7.40am this morning (15 June). According to an Apcan Security representative the rider told security officers on the scene that the vehicle unexpectedly turned in front of him. The impact caused the motorcycle to spill petrol, which caught fire when it hit the ground.

No one was injured and Johannesburg Emergency Services were on the scene to put out the fire.
