Update: ‘Never push a man to violence’ – father’s Facebook post

Police inundated with info on man's whereabouts.

The last Facebook post by Marthinus Pelser, the father of the baby boy who was found dead on Saturday, had an eerie, ominous undertone.

Pelser’s post on Friday read “Never push a man to violence, who has been waiting for an excuse to use it”. The post is accompanied by a picture of a creature with a demonic appearance.

Meanwhile Honeydew Police spokesperson Karen Jacobs told the Record at 12pm today (13 June) that “members have just gone out again to follow up on information we received. He is still on the run but we are inundated with information from people across the area who believe they have spotted him. We are tirelessly following up every bit of information.”

After returning from work the mother of Pelser’s six-month-old baby found the infant dead with burn wounds and a fractured skull. Pelser made off with her vehicle (a copper-colour Kia Picanto with registration number TRX 167 GP) without explaining what had happened in her absence.

Anyone with information as to his whereabouts can call Constable Motaung on 011 804 8400. Reference Case number 439/6/2016.
