Technicians are currently hard at work at the Roodetown Substation after a transformer tripped.
This has caused power outages in Witpoortjie and surrounding areas.
The power supply has been intermittent since 10am this morning. City Power spokesperson Yumna Sheik confirmed the power outage but assured residents the issue will be resolved soon.
“At 10.30am we received confirmation that a transformer did indeed trip and should affect surrounding areas,” she said.
