Joburg Ballet returns to the Roodepoort Theatre

New talent's work also on show.

Following Joburg Ballet’s successful debut season at the Roodepoort Theatre in 2015, the company returns to the attractively renovated venue with Ballets for Winter.

Warming up dance-lovers mid-season is a collection of three classical and contemporary works showcasing South Africa’s world class ballet company. After acclaimed performances of Les Sylphides in 2015, this great classic with its evocative music by Chopin comes to Roodepoort for the first time.

The programme also includes the spectacular Grand Pas Classique, a showcase pas de deux for ballerina and partner, plus a new contemporary work by admired SA choreographer Kelsey Middleton, called She Stumbled and Fell. Middleton’s Last Supper was one of the hits of the 2015 ballet season.

There will be four performances only, on 17, 18 and 19 June. Booking is open on 0861 670 670, in person at the Roodepoort Theatre and online at www.webtickets.co.za.

The Record has three sets of double tickets to give away. The first three couples who email Riaan van Zyl at riaanvz@caxton.co.za will receive the tickets, which must be collected from the Caxton offices in Witpoortjie.
