RUIMSIG - Seven people suffer from mild smoke inhalation after a fire broke out late last night.

Seven people suffered from mild smoke inhalation after a fire erupted in a house in Featherbrooke Estate.

According to ER24 Spokesperson, Pieter Rossouw the incident occurred late in the evening of 9 June. “It is believed that the fire started in the roof of the house,” said Rosssouw. ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found that seven people suffered mild smoke inhalation.

He added that fortunately, no serious burn wounds were sustained. “ER24 treated and transported two patients to Netcare Pinehaven Hospital in Krugersdorp for further treatment,” said Rossouw.

The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene. Rossouw concluded that the cause of the fire is not yet known, local fire and police authorities were on scene for further investigation.
