Police celebrate Child Protection Week with children

ZANDSPRUIT – Honeydew Police and children celebrate Child Protection Week.

Police and children took to the streets of Zandspruit Informal Settlement on 1 June to commemorate National Child Protection Week.

The children marched behind the police vehicle in the informal settlement with placards saying ‘I have rights’ and ‘No abuse, only love and care’.

The march was meant to highlight the plight of child abuse and to alert residents about children’s rights.

“Honeydew Police celebrated the day with the children. Some of the nursery schools participated in a march through the streets of Zandspruit standing up for their rights,” said Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs.

The police also visited Realeboga Pre-Primary School in celebration of Child Protection Week.
