Maragon hockey girls shoot to score

RUIMSIG - Three pupils have been selected for the Southern Gauteng provincial team.

Following their successful run of provincial representation last year, the hockey girls of Maragon Ruimsig have once again shone in this year’s Southern Gauteng provincial trials.

Eight girls were selected to represent the school at district level, and of those eight, six were chosen to attend the final round of provincial trials. Inge Odendaal (U14), Danne Meyer (U16) and Koena Mokoena (U18) were knocked out at the final round of trials, but Mpho Komane, Caylin Barendsen and Jennifer Young were selected to represent their province in the upcoming Inter Provincial Trials during June and July.

“I am extremely proud and privileged to represent Maragon at a provincial level. Hockey is my absolute passion,” said Barendsen.
