The Beyl family is mobile again

Family mobile again.

The Beyl family’s transport woes, caused by a gruesome accident that rendered them without a vehicle, are over.

Good Samaritan Marinda van den Berg jumped in alongside the community and raised money to buy the family a vehicle. This morning (3 June) the little powder-blue Golf was handed over to Egbert and Lindie Beyl and their two children Monique and Ruben. The vehicle cost R26 000 and Marinda still needs to raise R6 000 to fully cover the costs.

“We just want to thank Wayne and Surette van der Vyfer for their assistance on the accident scene as well as Help24 for towing our vehicle for free. And special thanks to Marinda, her husband André and the community members who lent a helping hand,” said Egbert.

Marinda in turn said she would like to thank everyone who made donations, both monetary and in service. “I would like to thank the EG Church Goudrif, National Auto Glass Honeydew, my husband André, Harlequins Rugby Club, Amanda Verster-Van der Merwe, Alumni Autotronics and Herman Pienaar for sponsoring the spare parts,” said Marinda.

Egbert is currently unemployed and is seeking employment. He said he is willing to learn. Anyone interested in employing him can contact him on 073 173 4390.
