Grandparents go to school

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Grandparents and the special role they have in the family were celebrated at Agape Christian School.

Grandparents of Agape Christian School in Weltevreden Park got spoiled on their annual Grandparents Day, on 27 May.

According to Clarence Jennings, principal of Agape, the grandparents were treated to a day of fun-filled competitions. It involved games like guessing old music from Springbok Radio station. There were also dance competitions with grandparents showing off old dance moves. “Some grannies showed us the latest hip-hop dances,” said Jennings.

Agape handed out more than 80 gift hampers as prizes for the competitions. The highlight for the grandparents was when they were treated with a special show by their grandchildren and received tea and treats as well.

Jennings was the master of ceremonies and gave the grandparents a message of encouragement as they face the challenges of life today.
