One killed in truck collision

One person has died and the driver of a delivery truck has sustained minor injuries after they collided with another truck on the N1 south near Gordon Road yesterday.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe, the delivery truck rear ended the other truck.

Netcare911 paramedics and other services arrived on scene, they found the passenger from the delivery truck had already died due to the extensive injuries he sustained.

The man was declared dead on scene by a Netcare911 paramedic.

The Roodepoort Fire Department assisted paramedics on scene to extricate the deceased passenger from the wreckage.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries, he was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

The occupants of the other truck did not sustain any injuries.
