BREAKING NEWS: Foetus found dumped in a bin

RUIMSIG – Gardener makes a gruesome discovery as an aborted dumped foetus was found in a bin inside the residential complex.

A dumped foetus was found in a dustbin at Willow Brooke Mews residential complex.

The gardener, Mzukisi Phangilanga, who was collecting rubbish on the morning of 31 May, said the dustbin was half empty.

When he emptied the dustbin he was completely unaware of what was inside until he made the gruesome find in a tied plastic bag.

“I took out the rubbish and when I opened the plastic bag I couldn’t believe what I saw,” he said.

He explained that he was shocked and immediately alerted his supervisor about the shocking discovery.

“When I realised that it was a foetus, I was very shocked and could not believe it for a second,” he explained.

One of the BCI Protection Services clients immediately alerted the private security company.

Jonny Loots from BCI appealed to the members of the public who could have information to contact them or the Honeydew Police.

“We discovered it (foetus) this morning and it looks fresh as if it was dumped last night,” said Loots.

He further explained that the culprit should be sought. “Anyone who might have information and know a woman who was pregnant in the area should let the authorities know,” he concluded.

Honeydew Police who were on the scene investigating the incident could not talk to the media. Police spokesperson Warrant officer Karen Jacobs said a case of concealment of birth was opened. “Nobody has been arrested yet,” she said.

Michelle Taylor from Renico Construction, owners of the complex, said she tried to speak to the tenants to find out what happened and they condemned the incident.
