Two people died and two others were left with injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in hit a wall on Golf Club Terrace near Ferreira Street in Discovery yesterday morning (29 May).
ER24 paramedics found the badly damaged car against a house wall. Upon assessment it was found that the male driver and a female passenger in die back had succumbed to their injuries. Both are believed to be in their 20s.
The Roodepoort Fire Department assisted paramedics by extricating the deceased from the wreckage.
The passenger in the front, a woman understood to be 18 years of age, was found to have sustained critical injuries.
A fourth passenger, also a woman, sustained moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to local hospitals for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
