Driver arrested after accident

At least 10 injured.

At least ten people sustained moderate to minor injuries when a Toyota Venture collided with a light motor vehicle on the N1 North near 14th Avenue in Roodepoort. The accident happened this morning (30 May) at about 6.20am.

Reports from the scene indicate that four people sustained moderate injuries while six sustained minor injuries.

At the scene Netcare 911 paramedics found an overturned Toyota Venture. They worked alongside various emergency services to treat and stabilise the injured, after which they were transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.

Police will investigate the exact details of the cause of the accident and will comment in due course. However, the driver of the Venture was arrested for driving without a driver’s licence and a licence disk on the vehicle.
