Women empowerment organisation celebrate first birthday

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Women entrepreneur organisation celebrates their first year and welcomes more members to join them.

The South African Council for Women (SACBW) Joburg West celebrated their one year birthday, at Klein Constantia House.

The special celebration took place on 18 March, and was attended by guests and members. A talk was given by professional speaker and facilitator Adele du Rand, who works with various organisations and leaders on a professional level.

She spoke about working with the right people, having the right attitude in business and gave useful tips on running a business.

“I assist organisations with creating good habits, identify what is holding them back in business and help them achieve their goals. I believe women do not believe in their own abilities enough, I encourage them to know what they have to offer and not change who they are in their industries,” said Du Rand.

SACBW national president Cerita Nagy said that their organisation has 17 branches nationally and are in the process of opening seven more branches in three more provinces.

“This day symbolises that there is a need for business advice for women. Our organisation is a vehicle used to empower women and we have been doing this for the past 27 years. In the difficult economic position we are currently in, more women need to work in business as something to keep them going in their busy lives,” explained Nagy.

Members and guests who attended the occasion also got the opportunity to introduce the industries they are in, as a way to network with other women in business.

Naggy added that the organisation’s theme for the year is “Lead the change”, which has to do with the importance of leadership in the industry and the position you are in. There are four national congresses that are planned for the year. For more information people can visit their website.
