81-year-old man and wife robbed

WELTEVREDEN PARK – A couple was stripped of their jewellery during a robbery.

An 81-year-old man and his wife were robbed at gunpoint while entering their complex on Cornelius Street, Weltevreden Park.

At about 2.30pm on 18 May the couple drove into their complex and stopped at their unit. According to Honeydew SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs, two smartly-dressed men approached the couple.

“Both men were armed and allegedly demanded their jewellery,” added WO Jacobs.

The suspects fled with the jewellery and keys, in a white VW Golf or Polo. A case of armed robbery has been opened.
