Woman traumatised by robbery

Suspects break through sliding door.

A domestic worker was tied up this morning during a house robbery believed to have been committed by foreigners, said Florida Police spokesperson Lydia Dikolomelo.

At about 9am at least two robbers broke through the sliding door of a house in Struben Street. One of them tied up the domestic worker and locked her in a room. They then ransacked the house and took a TV, tablets and jewellery, among other things. The woman said she is not sure how many robbers were involved, but could hear the suspect who tied her up talking to at least one other suspect. According to the domestic worker the suspects were talking in a foreign language but when they left one of the suspects told her in broken Zulu that they “will be coming back”.

Dikolomelo told the Record that the woman is extremely traumatised.
