Unarmed thieves scam their way into house

Suspects use Audi and BMW.

A Florida resident, Wilma Venter wishes to warn residents against three slick thieves who commit their crime without force or firearms.

Last Friday at around 3.30pm she and her friend returned from Spar on Goldman Street where she also had withdrawn money. They were still carrying their shopping bags into the house when out of the blue, two women and a man appeared in the yard. When they asked them what they wanted, one of the women replied that she wanted to make use of their landscaping services, to which Venter replied she does not do landscaping. The other two intruders slipped into the house while the other one insisted they were at the right address. Meanwhile one of them distracted her friend.

One of the female intruders then left in the grey BMW the three arrived in, but a short while later she returned in a silver Audi to fetch her cronies.

It was only after the suspects left that Venter realised her purse that she had put in a drawer in the kitchen, was emptied of R2 700 and her bank cards.

“I believe it might have been the Audi gang who followed me from the ATM,” said an upset Venter.
