Black Volvo involved in attempted robbery

Robbery attempt failed.

The West Suburbs Roodepoort Neighbourhood Watch (WSRNW) has issued a warning that a black Volvo might be used to commit crimes in Witpoortjie.

According to WSRNW spokesperson Frik van Zyl their patrollers were called to Goedehoop Street at around 10.45am last night (10 May) after neighbours had heard screams. At the house the patrollers were told the resident in question had seen a black Volvo parked in front of his gate. The gate’s lock was broken and two suspects, armed with knives, also tried to break open the security gate. They were not certain how many other suspects were in the vehicle, of which the registration number is unknown.

This raises concerns after a resident caught suspects driving a black Volvo in the act of trying to break into a garage on Friday night. He took his firearm and went outside, but by the time he got to the street the suspects had fled.
