The Caxton Local Newspapers Joburg West Rand branch is looking for an experienced Journalist to join the team
The job entails:
* Writing daily articles for web and weekly articles for print following a prescribed style
* Social networking across all relevant platforms
* Covering live events
* Photography
Requirements:
- Preferably a degree or diploma in journalism with at least one year’s experience in a news room
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans
- Excellent writingskills in English and Afrikaans: grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure
- Ability to meet non-negotiable deadlines
- Ability to do research on the internet
- Attention to detail
- Adherence to in-house editorial style
- Own transport and valid driver’s licence (non-negotiable)
- Must be prepared to work irregular hours including weekends and evenings
- Good time management, planning and organizational skills
Candidates who are invited to an interview will be required to write a language proficiency test.
