Spinners raise R20 000 for charity

LITTLE FALLS –Spinning wheels raises much-needed funds for St Laurence’s Children’s Home.

The RED day hosted by KW Realty Sync West Rand raised both heartbeats and funds at their spin-a-thon with massive success.

Renew, Energise, Donate (RED) was the theme of the event. More than 790 offices from around the world contributed a day to the upliftment of the community.

KW Realty Sync West Rand hosted their spin-a-thon for the third year running at Virgin Active in Little Falls on 7 May. Many enthusiastic spinners joined the hour-long classes to help raise funds for this year’s beneficiary, St Laurence’s Children’s Haven.

KW Realty Sync owner Peter Bell and Tarryn French are pleased at the funds they raised for St Laurence’s Children’s Haven.

St Laurence’s Children’s Haven cares for abused and abandoned children. On a daily basis, the home offers a place of safety to about 22 children. For many of the children, this is, for the first time, a home where they are fed three meals a day, cared for and supervised. It is through patience and love that most of the children overcome the pain and trauma they have experienced, in order to become healthy and happy children.

The owner of KW Realty Sync, Peter Bell, said, “We have had a great turn-out and thank each and every one of the sponsors and individuals who helped us make this event a success.”

Funds were raised by spinners donating a certain amount for their seat in the spinning classes.

Bell explained that after all of the sponsorship donations as well as the donations collected from the class, the event raised upwards of R20 000 for the St Laurence’s Children’s Haven.
