Residents and corporates tee'ed off in aid of the Queen Butterfly Foundation.

Over the weekend (Sunday 1 May) the Queen Butterfly Foundation raised in excess of R20 000 for their cause as golfers tee’ed off at CMR Golf Club.

Founder and principal, Palesa Mofokeng said the money will be set aside to assist them in paying rent on a house they plan on renting for the foundation later in the year. It is Queen Butterfly’s mission to provide a safe and loving stimulatory environment for special needs children with sever mental and physical disabilities. The purpose is to elevate their level of functionality through the creation and implementation of an expertly and uniquely designed stimulatory programme for each child. At the moment, the foundation looks after the special needs of 20 children. Mofokeng previously worked for and was mentored through Pathways Roodepoort, where she found her passion for working with the physically and mentally disabled.
