Dyno Day at Monument Toyota

Dyno Day a success

From the loudest sound systems to the loudest engine, Monument Toyota’s Dyno Day was feast for motor enthusiasts.

In the Dyno Challenge, 70 cars of different models lined up as they had their vehicle measured for power and torque.

Their engines roared to the limits as vehicles were put on a chassis dynamometer and tested.

Using a mathematic formula, the dyno’s computer gives out a horsepower number and torque number as the engine speed (rpm) is measured.

Motoring fans stood in front of screens as they watched the numbers fluctuate and cheered loudly as the vehicles.

Those who were confident in the sound of their music system could get their vehicles tested by South Africa Autosound Competition International for the DB Sound Off competition.

In another section of the dealership, the sleekest and smoothest looking vehicles could be found for the Show ‘n Shine portion of the event.

The pre-owned manager Barrett Slabbert said with the success of the event, they are looking to host the event later this year.

“Today is about creating awareness for our dealership in a fun and flashy way. With various cars on display and the roaring of the engines really excites those who love cars. This is first inaugural show and its gone great. We are looking to make it a bi-annual event,” he said.
