20 snuggles for Junior Colleges

RADIOKOP – 20 birthday candles burn brightly in celebration of Junior Colleges Snuggles.

Junior Colleges Snuggles, a pre-school that caters for children aged from three months to six years, celebrated their 20th birthday with lots of smiles, cake and jumping on jumping castles.

Principal, Megan Hunt, explained the school was first opened 20 years ago on 22 April by a local teacher and the Junior Colleges group only became involved in 2014. Hunt has been the principal since May when Junior Colleges took over. Since then, many changes have taken place at the school, such as new jungle-gyms and play areas.

“It has been awesome and we just wanted to have a children’s party to celebrate 20 years since the start of a school on the premise,” said Hunt. In the future, Hunt expressed they are looking to install AstroTurf and just continue to upgrade the school. “We just want to make sure we have happy children and happy parents,” Hunt added.

The longest standing member of the team, Julia Mosepele, has been there for around 19 years and has seen many children pass through Snuggles’s gates. Mosepele said, “A lot has changed since Junior Colleges took over but they have been changes for the better. My favourite memories of my time with Junior Colleges through the years has been to build puzzles and sing songs with the children.”
