Zumbathon for Fora

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Women shake their booty for a good cause.

A Zumbathon was held in Weltevreden Park to raise much-needed donations for the furry friends of Fora.

Zumba instructor, Meagan Taylor, hosted her last Zumba class before she immigrates, and so decided to go out with a bang. “Friends of Rescued Animals (Fora) have always been close to my heart and I have worked with them for years, so as this was my last class, I wanted to dedicate it to the animals at Fora.”

Entrance for the class was any donation that the animals at Fora could use. Bags of dog and cat food flooded in as well as warm blankets for the up-coming winter season.

The hall was filled with excited women and some children ready to get into shape for a good cause. Taylor began the class with enthusiastic moves that quickly got the troop into their groove. Two extra instructors, Janine Canha and Robyn Jones, led the group in some interesting, belly-shaking dance moves.

Linda Scrace from Fora said, “We always appreciate when people take the initiative to host food drives for us. Without fundraisers like this we couldn’t be doing what we are doing.”

“Meagan is fabulous and has always helped us out, it is sad to see her go, but we are so thankful for the support the community showed.”
