Hijacking update: Abigail discharged from hospital

Six weeks of bed rest ahead.

Abigail Bright, 10, who was hospitalised with her mother and brother after being kidnapped during a hijacking that ended in a collision, has been discharged from hospital.

Abigail was reunited with her baby sister Marinique at home yesterday.

Family spokesperson Allan Bright yesterday said, “When visiting Marilize, Eugene (her husband) said she was sitting up and eating and speaking to him. She is still in ICU.

They have just received a phone call from the hospital about Abigail. She is being discharged from hospital today (19 April) and she will be recovering at home. Damian is still the same but doctors say they are looking at taking him off the ventilator later this week”.
