New members the new mission

Bacon & Egg Toastmasters welcomes a new member from Krugersdorp.

The addition of a new member gave the Bacon & Egg Toastmasters Club new hope for their future.

Jakkie Naudé, the councillor for Ward 20 in Krugersdorp joined them at their recent meeting and signed up to learn a lot more about public speaking.

According to club public relations officer, Glen Campbell, “Toastmasters provides a range of wonderful opportunities to learn the art of communication, public speaking and leadership.”

In their meeting on 16 April at the Stages Restaurant in Roodepoort Theatre, Ilze Wild gave her penultimate speech on reaching one’s dreams. Her final speech in a meeting to come will qualify her as a Competent Communicator, according to Toastmasters International’s curriculum.

Kevin Marden presented the meeting’s educational session, titles ‘Moments of truth’, guiding an open discussion on how improvements could be made within the club going forward.

The Bacon & Egg Toastmasters meet the first and third Saturday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled for 30 April at the Stages Restaurant, Roodepoort Theatre at 100 Christiaan de Wet Road. Meetings start at 8.30am.
