Season’s swimming success at Maragon

Swimmers success in Gala season

The High School swimming teams of Maragon Private School have had a successful season.

The year started off with the annual Inter-house Gala which saw many new pupils participate.

The swimming team then made their way on a camp to Die Oog.

It was then time for the Inter-High swimming gala series which included schools around Johannesburg.

Maragon A-Team swimmers continued their good form as they came out victorious and won the the Inter-high gala by 1 point.

The B team Inter-high followed and the swimmers excelled in the pool against very tough competition.

“We never imagined that we would experience such a nail-biting, final few races. After much screaming, shouting and nervous shaking we couldn’t believe the team won. What an experience and rush for us all,” said the school’s Jordyn Haupt.

Twelve swimmers Thiko Rautshahalo, Bradley Bloem, Amy Ackerman, Sheldon Lotz, Darian Levy, Caylee Levy, GeorgiSynodinos, Hannah Valkenburg, Nicole Smit, Caitlyn Luck, Claire McKay and Jarryd Naude for qualified for Prestige.

They qualified by placing first and second in their respective races at Inter-high.

“A huge thank you goes out to the swimming teams’ skilled coaches and amazing officials for their continuous support and dedicated hard work during the swimming season,” said Haupt.
