1 000 households subject to emergency outage

At least 1 000 households will feel the effects of City Power's decision on an emergency shutdown.

At least 1 000 customers will feel the decision made by City Power to implement an emergency power outage tomorrow.

The entity notified local media of an emergency shutdown in Florida and Florida Park on Thursday night 7 April.

“The interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network,” CoJ communication specialist, Dudu Lushaba in a press statement said.

The interruption is planned to take place between 10pm and 6am the following morning (Friday 8 April) but customers are cautioned to treat their electricity supply points as live throughout the shutdown.

“City Power regrets any inconvenience that may be caused by these interruptions,” Lushaba said.
