Ring the Bell of Hope for Ebenezer

Partake in the Bell of Hope Cycle Challenge for mental wellness, to benefit NPO Ebenezer House.

The fourth annual Bell of Hope Cycle Challenge for Mental Wellness is just around the bend, so to speak.

An NPO organisation located in Witpoortjie, Ebenezer House, is inviting the community to participate on their behalf. They offer stay-in care for adults suffering from bipolar disorder, depression and schizophrenia, and are solely dependent on an insufficient monthly subsidy from the Department of Health.

The event is being organised for Sunday 24 May, in recognition of National Bipolar Day on 26 May. The challenge route runs through the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.

Participants can choose between a 50km ride of a 15km ride, which was designed for the not-so-fit and child participants. The race starts and finishes at Valverde Country Hotel.

The 50km ride is set to start at 7.30am while the 15km ride will start at 8am. Interested parties can enter online through Cycle Events at www.cycleevents.co.za. The entry fees are R150 per person, and late entries will be charged at R170 per person for both challenges. The challenge isn’t a professional nor a timed cycle event and no prizes will be handed out. However, there will be lucky draws.
