Easter Weekend at Glass Village

Easter weekend happiness at Ngwenya Village

Visitors streamed into Ngwenya Glass Village in Muldersdrift over the Easter weekend.

The Ngwenya glass blowing factory is the centre of the Ngwenya Glass Village.

Visitors got to watch the ancient art of glassblowing and browse the 12 shops that make up the Village.

Popular on the day was Shades of Ngwenya where people can watch a group of local glass blowers creating an enchanting array of glassware, and a range of animals and birds of Africa.

Everything is made from recycled glassware.

The products include a range of tableware, drinking glasses, vases, jugs and ornamental African animals, and the glass used has been recycled from soft drink bottles.
