Epileptic man missing for over a year

A West Rand man's family, the police desperate for information on him.

Both the Randfontein Police and Erik ‘Palera’ Abrahams’ family are desperately appealing to Roodepoorters to aid in the search for him.

Erik has been missing from Toekomsrus in Randfontein for more than a year. He went missing on 12 February 2015, the family having last seen him on his way to work. He never returned home.

According to Randfontein Police spokesperson Appel Ernst, Erik suffers from epilepsy and has regular seizures. He walks with a limp, as the right side of his body is lame and dons a scar on his head. Erik also suffers a speech impediment.

Last year, Ruben van der Merwe, Erik’s brother-in-law told the Randfontein Herald that he is well known in Toekomsrus and would regularly be helped home by residents when he becomes lost.

Residents with any information as to his whereabouts are urged to contact the family or the Randfontein Police with further details. Reach Elaine van der Merwe, his sister on 081 578 9313, or her husband, Ruben on 085 643 5560. Alternatively, contact the Randfontein Police on 011 278 8100.
