New way criminals check to see if you are home

A new cunning way that criminals use to establish whether you are home or not.

A local crime watch group, 24/7 Emergency Assist, has identified a new cunning way that criminals use to establish whether you are home or not.

Criminals know people are now going on their Easter holiday. They will test if people are home by turning off the water valve outside your property. If they return a day later and see that it is still turned off they will know you are not home and visa versa.

If you are house sitting remember to run the tap for 10 seconds to see if water comes out. If not check if the water valve outside is closed and if so turn it back open.
