48 Suspects arrested during special operation

They must inform their neighbours, friends and security companies

This past Friday Roodepoort Police arrested 48 suspects of which one was wanted for murder.

The other suspects were arrested for common robbery, assault GBH, assault common, theft, possession of dagga, possession of drugs, house breaking and theft and possession of stolen goods. The suspects were charged and detained at Roodepoort Police Station.

At the same time Florida Police has issued advice for holidaymakers who will be going away.

“As people are going on holiday, they must inform their neighbours, friends and security companies. People who are not going on holiday must be alert as criminals will want to take advantage of this time assuming that residents are on holiday. If someone is looking after your house you must inform them that no one will be coming for maintenance or domestic work.

“They must not invite strangers in, make sure that doors, gates and windows are closed at all times and each time they go out they must monitor suspicious vehicles or people. Always report to the Police if there is suspicious movement in the area as it will increase visibility,” said spokesperson Sergeant Mpho More.
