One killed, three injured in head-on collision

Two children injured.

A man was killed and three others injured, including two children, when two light motor vehicles collided head-on Nick Toomey Road in Lindhaven last night.

ER24 paramedics, along with another private service, arrived on the scene and found both vehicles in the middle of the road. Both vehicles had sustained a heavy amount of damage in the collision.

On inspection of the first vehicle, paramedics found the body of a lifeless male in his 50s lying trapped inside. Unfortunately the patient had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries and was later declared dead on scene.

On inspection of the second vehicle, paramedics found that a mother and her two girls, believed to be aged 10 and 12, had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

ER24 paramedics treated and transported the mother while another service transported the two children. All three patients were transported to Krugersdorp Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations
