A day out with Miss India Gauteng

Miss India Gauteng took out some children from the Siyabonga Dorah's Ark

Miss India Gauteng 2015 Sherianne Pillay celebrated Human Rights Day by opening her heart to those in need.

She took the children of Dorah’s Ark out on a day of fun and learning.

They went to visit former South African president Nelson Mandela’s home in Soweto’s Vilakazi Street.

“This was their chance to learn about Human Rights and the man who played a great role in achieving those rights for all South Africans. I hope this way, they can learn to fight for their dreams and have a greater link on where we come from as a nation,” said Pillay.

It was then off to Baldeo’s in Horizon View’s The Village where they had a scrumptious burger and chips before getting some dessert. But the children were more interested in playing at the restaurant’s game corner.

Kuna Muthwa who works with the children at Dorah’s Ark said she was grateful for the help Sherianne has provided for them.

“The children woke up very early this morning and couldn’t wait to get the day started. They couldn’t wait to see Madiba’s house. They were just happy to be out and having fun. They appreciate this day so much,” she said.
