Car crashes into fence leaving two injured

Injured taken to hospital.

Two woman were left injured this morning after a light motor vehicle crashed through a fence on Constantia Drive.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on scene and found the light motor vehicle on the pavement up against a palisade fence.

Two woman, both in their 40’s, had been in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

The driver was found lying trapped inside the vehicle while the passenger had sustained only moderate injuries and was sitting on the pavement. Paramedics carefully extricated the driver from the vehicle and provided her with advanced life support treatment.

The critically injured patient was transported to Flora Hospital for further treatment.

The passenger was treated and transported by another service to Flora Hospital. It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle as they drove around the corner.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
