This past Sunday, 13 March, the Chicken Runners Vespa club hosted a bowling day to raise more funds for SANparks Honourary Rangers.
The weather played along and a whopping 24 teams entered. Although most were unversed in the finer skills of the sport, seasoned skips stood by to give guidance in order to reduce the embarrassment factor. At around 4pm visitors could enjoy some of the finest braaivleis and prizes were auctioned off.
The Chicken Runners made a neat profit for their worthy cause of just over R9000.
Raffle tickets also went on sale for an authentic restored vintage Vespa. Anyone interested can contact Jannie Alberts of Classic Vespa on 072 311 0373.
