Trip down memory lane for Maimane

ALLEN'S NEK – DA leaders re-register to vote at Allen Glen High School.

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane re-registered to vote at Allen Glen High School on 5 March.

Maimane took a trip down memory lane when he stepped onto the school grounds. Allen Glen High School happens to be the school Maimane attended when he was a boy. The students and staff that were there welcomed him with open arms.

Maimane was accompanied by DA Joburg mayoral candidate Herman Mashaba and DA provincial leader of Gauteng John Moodey.

The DA leader said, “We encourage people to come and vote if they want change. While the ANC is falling apart, we need to build South Africa up.” Maimane added that everyone wants South Africa to succeed, and everyone wants jobs and change. This will never happen if residents do not vote.

Mashaba said people must seek the change they want democratically and legally. “Yesterday I spent the day at the City Centre and what I saw was a tragedy. Service delivery was almost non-existent,” he said. Mashaba added that people are desperate for change.

Maimane said that he is optimistic about the municipal elections and that they are arguably the most contested elections ever. He concluded that rather than taking the time to protest, residents should go and register and elect a party that serves the people.
