Pupils transformed into storybook characters on World Book Day

RADIOKOP – Grade 3 pupils use their imagination on World Book Day to become their favourite book characters.

World Book Day is the biggest annual celebration of books in the United Kingdom and Ireland where children are urged to dress up as story book characters and celebrate the wonderful world of reading.

Charterhouse Preparatory School in Radiokop celebrated World Book Day on 3 March by dressing up as characters from their favourite story books. Princesses, tigers and wizards were just some of the characters that walked around the school on this special day. Grade 3 teacher, Ria Stevens said that her class had tremendous fun celebrating World Book Day during a Junior Primary School assembly.

She added that the children dressed up very creatively as book characters of their choice. “The children learned more about the value, enjoyment and importance of reading,” concluded Stevens. Pupils had a chance to have an interactive experience with their favourite books and shared it with their classmates.
