GALLERY and VIDEO: The big Welties walk
WELTEVREDEN PARK –1000’s of Welties pupils fill the streets of Weltevreden Park.
The Big Walk finally arrived for the pupils of Weltevreden Park Primary School on 25 February.
Friends, family, supporters and parents all joined in on the 5km walk around the leafy green suburb of Weltevreden Park. Each grade participated in the walk sporting their house coloured shirts.
The walk began with excited and bubbly Grade 1s followed by the rest of the school. As the first fundraiser of the year, supporters were asked to sponsor each kilometre in aid of school funds.
Pupils took to the streets guided by parents and marshals, some pupils skipped along while others fought off the temptation to run through the entire course. On arrival back at Welties, the pupils were treated to an array of jumping castles.
