Residents from Struben’s Valley, Honeydew, Wilgeheuwel, Allen’s Nek, Radiokop, Honeydew and Laser Park have had their power supply disrupted for lengthy periods since 20 February.
Ward 97 Councilor Jaco Engelbrecht said that the last information he received from the City Power depot manager was that the Wilgeheuwel power station was down due to cable theft.
“It was indicated that the power should be restored by 9pm on 22 February,”he said.
“I have had residents calling and sending text messages to complain about the power cuts. The most affected people are the agricultural farmers who need power in order to pump water.
