ROCCI triples their previous water donation

RUIMSIG – Businesses and individuals alike show their support to Rocci and donate water to areas where it's needed most.

Water is still a very big need in drought-stricken areas in South Africa. ROCCI Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted their second Water Drive in conjunction with Water Shortage SA on 19 February at the Hole-in-One Guest House and Conference Centre in Ruimsig.

Rocci president, Marietjie Esterhuizen said that they will continue to host water drives until there is no longer a need. She added that the water will be going to a drop-off point on 20 February in Witpoortjie from where it will be going to the North West. Businesses and individuals alike came in their masses to donate water to this worthy cause. Mr South Africa, Armand du Plessis also attended the Water Drive to show his support.

Willems van der Westuizen Professional Accountants in Fairland challenged their staff to donate water as the employee that donated the most can win a prize. Makro in Struben’s Valley was one of the main sponsors and donated 3500 litres of water toward the drive.

In the previous Rocci Water Drive of 22 January, Rocci managed to donate 3846 litres of water to drought-stricken areas, but almost trippled that amount to 12 507 litre on the second water drive on 19 February.
