A collision involving only one vehicle occurred in the early hours of this morning on the N1 near the Maraisburg off ramp.
Two people were killed in the collision that saw the taxi’s roof ripped off, and nine others were left with moderate injuries.
The vehicle, a minibus, allegedly lost control on the wet road and rolled several times. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they also found that one of the patients was pregnant. ER24 treated and transported a total of three patients to various hospitals in the area for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene.
The cause of the incident remains unknown but local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
