Maragon Primary excels at athletics

Eleven athletes from Maragon Private Primary School in Ruimsig participated at the Ruimsig Stadium trials on 10 February.

The team did exceptionally well and was selected to represent the Roodepoort Athletics Team. They are:

Obakeng Molefe – 1st in 80m sprints

Tiaan Esterhuizen – 2nd in 70m hurdles

Richard Agim – 2nd in shotput

Gabriela Afonso – 2nd in 80m

Nikita Newton – 3rd in high jump

Aerin Lombard – 3rd in high jump

Taryn Saby – 3rd in high jump

Emma Jacobs – 3rd in javelin

Trinity Dullisear – 4th in javelin

Chiedozie Igweze – 4th in 70m hurdles
