Man in serious condition after cycling accident

Driver did not see cyclist.

At around 1.10pm a cyclist was injured seriously on CR Swart Road when he allegedly was struck by a vehicle pulling out of a driveway.

The cyclist was riding down CR Swart Road towards Doreen Road when the accident happened. A Dowry Security reaction officer who was on the scene first stabilised the injured cyclist’s neck. ER24 paramedics soon arrived and took over. According to the security officer the man sustained injuries to his head and leg, a broken thighbone (femur) and he alleged that one of the man’s lungs collapsed.

The victim was airlifted to Life Robinson Hospital in Randfontein.
